In service, the relay continuously senses motor current and opens the starter circuit whenever draw stays above the dial setting, stopping a stalled or overloaded jockey pump before its windings overheat. After mounting the assembly, dial in the motor's nameplate FLA — not the breaker rating — per the Tornatech installation manual.
